Prayer of a Soldier's Family

This is a poem one of my friends wrote for me and all soldiers in arms.


Heavenly father, you placed this desire in his heart,
And on this journey he did depart.
With confidence he took a stand,
Vowing to protect our nation and defend our land.

Left behind we sit and wait,
To find out our country's fate.
I know you have your angels standing guard,
Just knowing he's there makes it really hard.

I pray that you will keep him out of harms way,
And in your hand he will stay.
As I lay my head down to sleep,
I pray all those who serve, in your hands you will keep.
